Weekend Transfer Rumors and the Gignac Dispute

A couple transfer rumors have emerged regarding Lille this weekend. Girondins de Bordeaux is planning on transferring Julien Faubert to West Ham. The Bordelais want to replace Faubert with LOSC’s Matthieu Chalmé. Supposely, Chalmé has dreamed to play on Bordeaux for awhile. Since he was not able to join them when he first started his career, he went to FC Libourne-Saint-Seurin then to Lille. Chalmé, was a decent defender for Lille. He may end up playing for his dream club. Good riddance, I guess. At least he can play for a club he likes instead of wasting our money.

Another rumor is that Cape Verdean-Portuguese defender, Eduardo Fernando Gomes (nicknamed Dady), is linked to Lille. The 25 year old striker currently plays for CF Belenenses. He has scored at least 10 goals for his current club. Gomes is also attracting Sporting Lisbon, and Benfica. How interested is Gomes with Lille? So far that information is unknown. He is rumored to sign soon with Lille for 3 million euros. This striker sounds interesting, but I am skeptical if Lille can interest him. I am pretty angry that LOSC has only recruited 2 players and lost a total of 10.

Finally, we have more news on the Gignac transfer dispute with Toulouse and Lille. After arriving in Toulouse, he infact admitted that he had an agreement with LOSC before Toulouse. Quel culot (what nerve)! Nice job turning your back on an agreement and transferring to Toulouse. I am glad that LOSC missed out on a player of his poor character.
