Transfer Rumors
By: Julien | June 21st, 2007
The LOSC fansite allezlesdogues.com has an interesting article about transfer rumors concerning the club. According to the fansite, Mathieu Chalmé may leave Lille to join Rennes,Bolton, or even Bordeaux. They also say that Daniel Gygax’s future may not remain at Lille. During the 06/07 season, the striker was loaned to FC Metz from Lille. Another rumor is that several players may come to LOSC by the end of the transfer period. They believe that Metz’s Sébastien Bassong (defender) and Babacar Gueye (striker) will come to Lille. Supposely, the newly promoted club Caen will also transfer two players to LOSC, Yohan Gouffran (striker) and Jérémy Sorbon (defender). It is also believed that Lorient’s André-Pierre Gignac (striker) will be transferred to Lille for 5 million euros.
Of all the potential arrivals to the club Yohan Gouffran seems the most interesting to me. He won the Ligue 2 Player of the Season award. I also read that he has great pace, and finishing ability. Gouffran sounds like the striker we need after Odemwingie’s poor season. He might work well up front with Mirallas. In my opinion, I think at the end of the mercato, Lille’s squad may be worse than last season’s.Lets review the transfers so far:
Departures
Audel (Valenciennes)
Bodmer (Lyon)
A.Keita (Lyon)
Owona (FC Brussels)
M.Robail (Dijon)
Tavlaridis (Saint-Etienne)
Vitakic (Free)
Arrivals
Béria (Metz)
Luis Yanes (Santa Fé)

Gouffran will be amazing. He’s really talented, and I’m surprised he’s been in L2 as long as he has. That being said, since Caen has been promoted, would they really be willing to sell their best player to their competition?

I’m sure Lille will spend their money wisely. Gouffran and Gignac would be good captures.

I fixed a typo that said Gygax was loaned from Metz to Lille.
