Transfer Possibilities: Ecuador International Carlos Tenorio

By: Julien | June 6th, 2008

LOSC management continues to search for new recruits. Here is a brief summary about Carlos Tenorio and Ben Khalfallah:

Carlos Tenorio
Age: 29 (another old guy sadly)
Position: Attacker
Nationality: Ecuadorian
Past Clubs:
2001-2003 : LDU Quito (49 matches, 13 goals)
2003-2003 : Al Nasr Riyad (16 matches, 15 goals)
2003- : Al Sadd Doha (176 matches, 102 goals)
Thoughts: Decent attacker. His age is a problem for me. We don’t need an attacker that old. We had an aging attacker last season, Kluivert, and it did not turn out too well. On the otherhand, he has experience including his 17 selections for the Ecuador national team.

Fahid Ben Khalfallah
Age: 26.
Position: Offensive Midfielder
Nationality: Dual French and Tunisian Citizenship
Past clubs:
2001 - 2002 Amiens SC 24 matchs, 2 goals
2002 - 2003 Amiens SC 11 matchs, 0 goals
2003 - 2004 Amiens SC 33 matchs, 1 goal
2004 - 2005 Amiens SC 14 matchs, 1 goal
2005 - 2006 Stade Lavallois 36 matchs, 4 goals
2006 - 2007 Stade Lavallois 37 matchs, 9 goals
Thoughts: My hopes are that Lille will stop looking at players that play in average leagues. Khalfallah does not really interest me. He scored a wacky goal against Yzeure:

Friendlies: Les Dogues have scheduled two friendly matches in July. On July 14th they play Calais, a division 3 French football club, in Linselles. Then towards the end of the month they play Royal Excelsior Mouscron of the Royal Excelsior Mouscron in Touquet.

A Young Surprise: Former LOSC player Mikkel Beck says that Emily Lyng could surprise. Lyng recently signed a contract with Lille. Beck quotes:
“He is powerful and quick, but he has more things to learn. I think that he is a player that could surprise and one that could quickly play with the professionals.”
Interesting feedback from the Beck. He has convinced me to look at Lyng more closer next season. Lyng a surprise? Anything is possible. After Peter Odemwingie left Lille, few assumed that Mirallas would play so well the following season.

Spain for Makoun? Recently it was believed that Makoun would sign to Olympique Lyonnais. That has not yet happened leading more clubs to the negotiating table. Sevilla FC is now onto Jean II Makoun. The La Liga club finished 5th in their league last season. I don’t see Makoun transferring to Sevilla when Lyon can and will probably offer more money. For now his future is still uncertain.

I am sure once Euros are over and Puel future is all settled Lille will take a serious look at players they want. But I don’t expect Lille to sign any big name players. But they always make smart transfers and I trust Puel with his talent spotting.
