LOSC Barely Beats FC Metz

By: Julien | August 13th, 2007

Lille’s first away match of the season was played yesterday at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the home of FC Metz. The newly promoted FC Metz, was last year’s champion of Ligue 2. They started their season with an away loss to Le Mans. Les Dogues started their season with a tie against Lorient at home. Line-ups courtesy of irie-jaffa:
Metz
Trivino
Gueye Diop Strasser Delgado
Djiba François Renouard Bessat
Agouazzi
Aguirre

Subs
Delhommeau Marichez Gueye Leoni N’Diaye Cissé Vivian

Lille
Sylva
Beria Dumont Plestan Tafforeau
Debuchy Makoun
Lichtsteiner Obraniak Michel Bastos
Youla

Subs
Malicki Fauvergue Mirallas Ewane Taravel Tahirovic Maric

Goals:
19′: Michel Bastos scores a nice goal for Lille.
84′: N’Diaye equalizes for FC Metz.
87′: Towards the very end of the match Maric scores with a header from a LOSC corner kick.

More match impressions tommorow. I have not been able to see the match yet. Sounds like it was very close. Lille barely came up with a win.

    At least it’s a win.

Maric is quite good - Puel has such a good eye for underrated talent.
