Lille Tie’s 18th Placed Club

That’s right. At home last Saturday, les dogues tied their 19th match of the season to FC Metz. They prevented Metz from obtaining only their second win of the season, which is pitiful as well as laughable. Goals were scored by Cabaye in extra time (cutting it close!) and Gygax scored an own goal earlier own in the match (24′). The beginning of the match was mostly in LOSC’s hands. Sadly, Bastos and Frau did not really contribute to the match. Bassong received a second yellow card in the match throwing him out of the match with a red. Regardless of Metz’s player count, they played fiercely and stopped several of Lille’s great chances. Unfortunately for Metz, Cabaye realed in a powerful strike that left Metz’s Marichez unable to react. Yvon Pouliquen, Metz manager, said that he was satisfied with his club’s aggressiveness and willingness to win. Both clubs came out with a point. Lille remains 17th in the table. Just above relegation zone.
