RMC

On Monaco’s RMC radio, Lille’s chairman, Michel Seydoux, revealed LOSC’s budget for the new season. Lille’s budget this season is 47 million euros, which is up from last season’s 36 million.

Camel Meriem

A proper replacement?
Also, Lille has been negotiating with AS Monaco to obtain Camel Meriem. Lille hopes to replace Bodmer with Meriem. Camel Meriem is a French-Algerian midfielder that has played for such notable clubs as Bordeaux, AS Monaco, and Marseille. This attacking midfielder scored 2 goals in 25 matches last season compared to Bodmer’s 8 goals in 32 matches. I honestly don’t think he can replace Bodmer’s talent. I think Olympique Lyonnais will get their money’s worth with Bodmer. Talks between Monaco and Lille regarding Meriem have stalled for the moment. Meriem may stay at Stade Louis II.I originally had a video clip of Meriem scoring a goal, but the link isn’t working well right now.

Odemwingie

Yesterday, the Italian media revealed that Lille striker, Peter Odemwingie, is interested in Naples. Naples is interested in the Nigerian striker, but so are other clubs such as Spartak Moscow and Shakhtar Donetsk. These two eastern European clubs have been very successful in the past. They should not be demeaned. Spartak Moscow and Shakhtar Donetsk are expected to offer more money than Naples. However, I can’t see Odemwingie turning down Naples over playing in Russia or Ukraine.S.S.C. Napoli has recently been promoted to Serie A. They most likely are a determined side that aims to stay in Serie A after the end of the 07/08 season. I believe that Odemwingie would be better off playing in Italy than in Russia or Ukraine.

Odem had better not go to Ukraine or Russia. Il est né à Moscou mais ça ne devrait pas être un critère!!! Il pourrait se relancer avec une bonne équipe dans un championnat moyen, du genre Anderlecht en Belgique, quelquechose de même…

I think it’ll be much easier for us to follow if you space out your sentences. Thanks.

Et sa mère est Russe.Il pourrait jouer en France avec Bordeaux ou un autre équipe.Mais comme vous avez dit, Russe n’est pas une bonne idée.

That’s a nice budget increase, and Lille has always known how to make a penny turn into a dime, so they’ll use their money well.

Meriem may not be Bodmer, but then again, Bodmer wasn’t Bodmer when he came from Caen! Puel is a great judge of talent, and I’m sure whoever he finds will be good.
