Club News: New Website, Official Presentation Date, And Transfer Controversy
By: Julien | June 26th, 2007
Today, LOSC Lille Métropole revealed their new official website. The new website keeps the same link, but has a new design, more club information, and a better LOSC WebTV. The new design is more modern, and has a better layout, which is great because the old site was boring and poorly designed. At least Lille is serious with their website now. Supposely, more topical information will now exist on the website. The revamped LOSC WebTV now features free access to original videos and other exclusive features. Also the traditional official presentation ceremony for the club will be held on July 18, 2007 in Stadium Lille Métropole. Michel Seydoux and Claude Puel will make speeches, new recruits will be showcased, the official photograph will be revealed, and AIRNESS will unveil the new LOSC jerseys.

Also, Toulouse claims that they have signed André-Pierre Gignac. Toulouse’s chairman, Olivier Sadran is now confirming that Gignac has signed a four year contract with Toulouse. “It is a settled case. Our administrative director was in Lorient on Monday. Lorient signed the last papers. Gignac has signed a four-year contract. We have followed the rules” (Sadran). Lille already said they struck a deal with Gignac with a deal around 4.5 million €. “I am sure of one thing, we had an agreement both with the player and FC Lorient” (Michel Seydoux, LOSC chairman). Sky Sports says that the Gignac transfer will be investigated by the juridicial committee of Ligue 1. According to Seydoux, Lille has experienced transfer disputes like this in the past with Abidal and Tavlaridis. This is an interesting transfer battle between Toulouse and Lille. I am not sure how legitimate Toulouse’s deal with Gignac is. We will just have to see how it turns out.
