Angry Seydoux,Empty Practice, And New Season Objectives

Puel and Seydoux
It sounds like LOSC is finished with the Gignac dispute. Lille chairman, Michel Seydoux, says that he is no longer interested in the striker. He also says that what occurred did not follow his rules of ethics. Supposely, he had a transfer etiquette. Seydoux claims he had an agreement with Gignac, and an agreement with Lorient. He finds it inadmissible that Toulouse is guaranteeing that they have Gignac. I still am unsure who is right in this case. LOSC has been interested with Gignac for awhile now. This is why I think they probably had a set deal before Toulouse.

Yesterday, several LOSC players were absent at practice. Makoun, Youla, Odemwingie, Mirallas, Rafaël, and Bastos all missed Monday’s practice. Additionally, the club also missed a total of 10 other players due to transfers (Tavlaridis, Audel, Bodmer, Keita, Mr. Robail, Zywiecki, Postollec,Vitakic, Pichon, Owona). I wonder how many people actually were there.

LOSC coach, Claude Puel, said that the club currently does not have any objectives for the next season. He says it is too early to tell what they will be. Puel also said that the club is still likely to evolve and change due to new recruits. Interesting response from Puel. While it is pretty early, I think it is very important to develop objectives for the club. How hard is it to figure out? One of Les Dogues’ goals should be to return to the Champions League after missing the upcoming one.

It sounds like there are more problems going on at Lille than they’ve previously let on. It’s not secret that Puel is unhappy with Lille’s inability to get started on their own stadium as well as keep their players. Ten departures is a lot to deal with.

I read somewhere that Lille is contemplating legal action against the player (kind of like what Marseille did with Clerc, who while contracted to Lyon signed a precontract with Marseille, but then extended his contract with Lyon, which caused Diouf to take him to court, except Marseille were the ones who got fined for approaching a player under contract…lol).
