A Draw In The South: Bordeaux vs. LOSC
By: Julien | February 25th, 2008Lille kicked off their 26th match of the season against the 2nd best club in the league, FC Girondins de Bordeaux. Before coming into the match, Bordeaux was one point behind the unstoppable Olympique Lyonnais side. After the match… les bordelais dug them self into a bigger hole. They are now 3 points away from Lyon. Are their title hopes over? Not yet at least. On the other hand, les dogues are attempting to avoid relegation. The null (0-0) after relegation time keeps the club 14th place in the table with a goal differential 5 points over Strasbourg, and only 1 point over PSG and Lens. The race to stay in Le Championnat looks to be more interesting than the title race. During the match, Bordeaux was never really able to score against a solid LOSC side. Shots after shots from Bordeaux were stopped. Les bordelais committed several fouls in the encounter. Match stats:
