Relegation Zone Is Such A Fun Place To Be
By: Julien | December 10th, 2007
That pic by the way is the “RELEGATION CLIFF”. LOSC played their 17th match of the season last Saturday against an ailing Toulouse side. Toulouse performed poorly in the Champions League this season and has continued with the poor form in Le Championnat. I can barely convey my thoughts into words when I saw us lose this match and drop us to 18th in the table. Nice job guys. Prior to entering this match, Toulouse had 3 draws and 2 losses in 5 matches. Their victory over Lille broke their winless streak. It was a narrow victory, but a tough loss for les dogues regardless. Lets take a look at the line-ups:
Toulouse
Riou
Ebondo Arribagé Cetto Ilunga
Sirieix Dieuze Emana Mansaré Sissoko
Elmander
Subs: Mansaré by Bergougnoux 70′
Emama by Capoue 89′
LOSC
Sylva
Beria Plestan Rami Tafforeau
Lichsteiner Dumont Cabaye Makoun Bastos
Mirallas Kluivert
Subs:
Kluivert by Chedjou 56′
Bastos by Obraniak 83′
Béria by Youla 83′
Card Frenzy
Ilunga 32′ (Tou)
Emana 79′ (Tou)
Rami 41′ (LOSC)
Béria 64′ (LOSC)
Lichsteiner 90′ (LOSC)
Goals
Elmander 70′
Lichtsteiner was very present during the offensive chances. In the midfield Makoun was missing. Bastos had a good match, and got several shots in. Next Saturday, Lille plays ASSE at home. Hopefully, we can get 3 points in and get higher in the table, but we would need help from PSG. PSG sits 17th place in the table with 19 points. Ideally, Lille would hope PSG draws or loses their next match against Toulouse to escape relegation zone.

Lille being in the relegation zone is just ridiculous. Okay, I understand that by Lyon taking Bodmer and Keita would make it difficult for Lille to challenge for a top three spot. But there is still enough quality on that roster to be in the top ten. And you have the best manager in France!
